biketrialler
Is there a tickbox "Disable refresh rates that my card/monitor cannot display" ticked? Untick it and just set it to like 85hz anyway. You do know that it makes no difference what refresh it is once its above 70hz ?
Tomm
I'd be very surprised if your monitor was capable of a refresh rate of >60 at 1280 anyway...
Alexx
I'd be very surprised if your monitor was capable of a refresh rate of >60 at 1280 anyway... ← Yeah, even the better more expensive ones are usually only 100 at that size as far as i know... :o
Toby
i know about the switch that lets you choose any refresh rate but it goes out of sync when i choose any others, i am completely telling the truth i could put it on 200 refresh rate at 1280x1024 with my 9800pro because i ran 1280x1024 with 120 for ages
Tomm
Refresh rates are to do with your monitor. You weren't running at that refresh rate, whatever the settings said...
Toby
Refresh rates are to do with your monitor. biketrialler
What monitor do you have?
DJ Phaze
200Hz for a refresh rate @ 1280??? No, sorry, not possible! Even if you chose 200Hz, the computer would automatically reset the values if it can't cope..... to stop you blowing up your monitor.. cultiv8ed_mike
Check your monitor instruction book as it has recommended refresh rates for different resolutions. Mines 85Hz at 1028x1024. Also its worth noting that a higher refresh rate can make games run slower.
Toby
What monitor do you have? ← just a compaq s720 17inch 200Hz for a refresh rate @ 1280??? No, sorry, not possible! Even if you chose 200Hz, the computer would automatically reset the values if it can't cope..... to stop you blowing up your monitor.. ← no it didnt automactically reset it though, i didnt run 200 all the time, i ran 120 on 1280x1024 and now i have a new card i cant for some reason
JonMack
If you are unaware why the new card is doing what its doing, and unable to solve the problem yourself, so resorting to posting on a forum, then chances are that Phaze is right. biketrialler
http://www.itbrugtsalg.dk/shop/default.asp?ProductID=432 According to that if you translate the lack of punctuation, seems to say 85hz refresh rate max....
Alexx
just a compaq s720 17inch i ran 120 on 1280x1024 and now i have a new card i cant for some reason ← At 1024x768 it's max refresh rate is 86Hz At 1280x1024 it's max refresh rate is 65Hz I just checked the specs. Whatever your computer screen is saying, it's physically imposible for it to run any higher than 65Hz, let alone 200 (Y)
Toby
i dont get it though i would run 60 then try it at 120 and i could see the difference though so how is it not running at 120, man my eyes must be playing tricks on me eh
DJ Phaze
then chances are that Phaze is right. ← "Pint for MonsterJ please, barman" (Y)
