BONGO

Recommended Posts

do a fakie toboggan 180 down some stairs - nobody does toboggans properly anymore.

I'm still in two minds on recent Ride issues, 105 was good I suppose but Rhys McFleece is ruining the whole mag for me.

I've been learning hop toboggans recently, so they'll be done backwards down somewhere sometime soon, but they're not at a standard high enough for me to send it down a decent stairset yet, so no dice.

I know what you mean about Rhys, the DVD reviews are in fairness better than they were, but it'd be nice to actually just read a review of a DVD instead of hearing a shitload of stuff no-one cares about, scene in-jokes, and "popular sayings". I guess that's the problem of paying by word, people are gonna chat more shite to get more money :P

Apparently he's a sound guy in real life from what I've heard, just comes across as a bit of a piece in Ride.

Bruce Crisman appears to have "Killing any potential style a turndown fakie hop might have" on lockdown, so I'll leave him to it, I think. It's probably gonna be a half-cab down the southbank seven set, or a fullcab down a smaller set, or a big 'n' burly railhop I called out.

Worrying times.

KHE collapse in silver. I never had any problems with mine. But the black one did get slightly rusty. (i had a silver one as well). You should only get the 'stiff link' problem if you take it apart too much.

Or the Loophole. Only been running a month i think now. But everyone else says it's the best.

I went with this. It worked fine for me with the V1 Shadow chain. But you have to be carefull when using it with a half link chain.

Generally i will always stay away from half link chains now. Plus they look a bit gash imo.

I got that chain tool and it's been fine for me, it's quite cheap too.

I was going to go for the Shadow chain but in the end i got this which is more or less the same as the Shadow but it's a tenner cheaper.

My bars keep slipping :( I'm running a elementary which is 2nd hand and so are the bars. I'm pretty sure the stem is V1. Anyways to fix this?

i do my elementary up with an uber long 8mm allen key for cranks, i have about 6-8mm of bolt sticking out the other side of the stem and it never slips...never!!!

Maybe i'm not tightening enough then? cos I stop when theres about 2mm of the bolt sticking out. This is the original stem bolt mind you. So the stem won't explode if I over tighten it a little ?

Take apart the stem and clean all the excess metal and shit that is around the knurling on the bar and the clamping area of the stem. That is the only advice i can give. Over tightening any stem can result in bad happenings.

do that

don't overtighten by using a dirty great allen key - elementaries clamp a lot harder than normal stems with a lot less effort put into the tightening so you really do run a serious risk of crushing your bars.

There's proper instructions for elementary installation and tightening available either on the odyssey site or the g-sport site (can't remember which)

Can anyone recomend a cheap pair of BMX tyres, for street, and park, No dirt.

Cheers

animal / abike co. GLH

or an ASM on the back and a GLH up front

don't think they cost very much and they're working out good so far.

Both Firmbikes and Alans are doing Animal Tyres cheap. Longest lasting tyre i've had. They rip over the Ruben tyres in my opinion. I'm running Animal GLH up front and a Demolition Zepplin at back.

Primo V-Monsters, Dirt Monsters & Walls are all rated tyres with a low price tag but only last a few months if that. Maxxis M-Treads are another budget tyre but i haven't actually used them. Odyssey Paths are a cheaper tyre as well but personally i don't rate them and would use a v-monster any day instead.
