Mark W
They're just solid 8mm where the cone-nut butts up against though, not actually a 'real' 8mm dropout like the Sunday?I've ridden a couple of 20.5" TT Sunday frames now, and built up they feel really good. They feel flicky, but in a controllable way? I'm 6'2" or so and I ride a 21"TT frame, but the 20.5" ones I've ridden have felt pretty sweet. I'd have way more optimism about the frame's longevity too compared to the Hades.I think James has a 20.25" Ovoid and it feels a bit weird, but James' setup is odd. Maybe a longer one would be OK - I dunno, there's something about those frames. I'm not a huge fan of the tubing either, but there we go. eskimo
in case you bypass the for sale thread, i am selling a front wheel....wheel for saleLooks alright. But i've seen a few people ride pegs with fun bolts and it makes me shiver. I would never trust myself with pegs on them, alright for ramp use i'm guessing.I need some advice wheels wise.20" - Need to be good for a pounding!NOW - I don't have much money left, and I need a back and front. Any Ideas ?Take that one off Bongo if you can afford it, also if you don't run pegs. I imagen it's fairly light. What are you looking for? poopipe
Budget is £20 all in all. Just because my money supply is REEAALLLY tight at the moment.erm, £20? buy a spoke key and sort it out the best you can till you've saved up another 100quid ?more usefully... I got a new gusset huka front wheel for about 45 quid (sealed hub n everything) cos I needed a wheel in a hurry. I got just over 6 months of dirty, dirty grinding out of it before the hubshell gave out (it still turns round but the bearings move around when you turn corners) - I know someone who ran one for a couple of years and only replaced it cos they got bored so I think I just got unlucky. I think the rear wheel is about a tenner more with a cassette. They're not lightweight but they appear to take a fair amount of abuse. eskimo
I don't really like The Source, but they're the cheapest place to get those forks. Poopipe was recommending those forks to people. From experience, stuff from The Source actually arrives (Albeit a little late), whereas Winstanleys just don't send stuff. I'm trying to help people out? I couldn't give less of a shit if people buy stuff from the Source...Seriously why do i even bother trying to support such companies like the Source? I backed them up before but yeah for what reason. Basically i was suppost to have my 24" built up by today or at very latest Saturday. So upon ordering stuff for next day and begging an ebayer to post early i would be able to ride today and go along to this jam tommoro. But no, source bmx (who are now not allowed a capital letter,) decided to not let me now that S&M cruiser forks weren't in stock and that they were available to order. So upon ringing them up again and finding out this, i changed the forks to some others which were in stock. Which wasn't a problem as i hadn't even placed the order yet. I ring them up today asking where are my forks and bars and aparently the forks are locked up in a special racing shed and the guy with the keys is on holiday. Typical. Next day delivery, now what is the point. As i'm having a rant i might as well say,Custom Riders sent me some spokes which were the length for 4x rather than 3x which is what i wanted. But they told me 3x is the only size they had in stock, so ok i took them. They told me that to check they were the right size they quickly laced one up. Idiots. Oh and my hub has a slight dent in it (very very light though so doesn't matter). Plus they advertise my hubs being able to take an Odyssey cog. Which is a lie. As one of the teeth things are now offset. As i'm typing this they just rang and oh guess what the bars aren't with them either. So they're throwing some free tubes in as compensation which pretty much sucks as it doesn't help me.Extremely pissed off. And in the case i feel i'm allowed to swear. On a plus side the ebayer sent the frame first class rather than 48hour courier in the end. So i get to look at my frame sat in my room doing nothing for 4/5 days.

Mark W
Not especially. But personally, I'd buy any other chain. If you search this thread (form at the left), there's quite a few Q&As about "Which chain" 'n' stuff...
A!!
yeah i was looking at them but ive heard they wear your driver and chainring down real fast? is it true?I know the big beefy nickel plated KMC i was using started to eat into my sprocket, and felt like wank on the freecoaster 9t driver, if thats any help haha.Get a dirty brown one like i said , cheap, light, did i say cheap? And mine doesn't seem to want to kill me as of yet either, although i probably put less stress on the chain 'cause of the coaster. poopipe
IMO shadow v2's are a waste of money. there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with mine (i've had it quite a long time now) but there also doesn't seem to be any reason for it costing £25as for chain tools - I have a really big one and it works fine on the shadow. It worked fine on my tank chain as well
Dan Clark
I have the older version of that Park chain tool, the £30 jobby and that doesn't work with the Shadow chain.
eskimo
chains...which one?KHE collapse in silver. I never had any problems with mine. But the black one did get slightly rusty. (i had a silver one as well). You should only get the 'stiff link' problem if you take it apart too much. Or the Loophole. Only been running a month i think now. But everyone else says it's the best.I'm looking for a tool that fits it, as i want to spray my frame. Apparently this is the only one ? park toolI went with this. It worked fine for me with the V1 Shadow chain. But you have to be carefull when using it with a half link chain.Generally i will always stay away from half link chains now. Plus they look a bit gash imo.
Mark W
My KHE seized up in multiple places having been joined once. Both chains did, a silver/black and silver/silver. Plus they look shite. In other news, been offered a Low Profile slot in Dig.
poopipe
In other news, been offered a Low Profile slot in Dig.sort of stealth fame then? maybe I should subscribe to dig rather than forking out for ride - do i get a free t-shirt&dvd? I'm not bothered about the magazine particularly - I was happy to pay for a year of ride and we all know how shite that can beoh - back to chains. how can a chain tool not work with the shadow chain? it's just a pin poked through some plates and a bushing jibber like a normal chain. my chain tool (the only chain tool I've ever owned) is basically a G-clamp with a pin sized poker instead of a clampy bit so I may be missing something but I fail to see whats going to stop it working. minicrack
The v2 is a decent chain ( But a bit too pricey). I had mine for a few months and had zero problems with it. Like poopipe clearly said it should just take any standard chain tool mine did worked fine. Altough after while i broke chain tool as pins are quite strong and put stress on the cheap bit of metal causing it to bend, Then again it could be me as im not very good at bike assembly. poopipe
Just gotta work out what trick to do now...Ride's been awesome lately - more Bancroft = more do a fakie toboggan 180 down some stairs - nobody does toboggans properly anymore.I'm still in two minds on recent Ride issues, 105 was good I suppose but Rhys McFleece is ruining the whole mag for me.
