Mark W
jesus Mark. you're a student ffs, if you're up at 7:30 in the morning it better be cos you spent all of last night either wrapped up in a student nurse or out taking something chemical based - my taxes are paying for your education and I'll not have you squandering my hard earned wonga on learning.crucial will be receiving my money because I only want to pay £40 for sunday forks - I don't have a particularly high opinion of the owner because he puts an apostrophe in sprockets, bars, wheels, frames etc etc. but at those prices I can handle dealing with an idiot.I woke up at 3pm today, and I've done f**k all. My body clock's truly messed up, the night before last, I was out riding 'til 3, then up talking/drinking with people 'til about half 6. Slept in 'til 2, rode 'til late again, then drank/talked 'til half 7, came in, checked e-mails 'n' stuff, then went to sleep. The annoying thing is is that it's happening again. Bugger! For the record, my wheelbase is 92.75cm and it feels The Shit

Mark W
Just feels like you've got a load more control, basically. Similarly to riding trials with narrow bars, then banging some wide 'uns on. I personally run my bars at between 26-26.5" and they feel pretty much ideal, but I'm pretty tall and have a relatively short-ish frame, so they work out OK. Height's the main thing - 8" rise bars just seem to make hops feel soooooo much better.
poopipe
agreedI just changed forks and cos I'm too lazy to cut my steerer tune I've stacked my bars up a half inch or so - the hops are flying already. ohsunday forks are light - everyone get some. winstanleys have about 3 green 14mm pairs left at £40, I got the last black ones so ner
Mark W
Winstanleys are also totally fanny. I used to like them, but this latest fiasco with my shoes is one step too far for me. The Source have them for the same price, in 10mm and 14mm (I think...) for £38.99, and they aren't pieces of shit like Winstanleys.

eskimo
how long did your front axle last again ?ohand £40 ummm :$ but it's light they look pretty good and to be honest i think id rather have 26 than 28. 28 seems too much on a bmx. those are seriously heavy bars compared to others though,I ride the Scerbo's currently which weigh in at 2.1lbs. Slam's, the big fashion bars also weigh in at 2.1lbs.So 2.3lbs isn't that bad considering you probably won't bend them. They do have the light version (the thinner tubing option i mean) which are 1.86lbs. IMO damn awesome. Before i had the Macneil Lighter 5 bars. Which were shorter so harder to bend but lighter though. They started to bend on one side with less than years riding. So your choice really, and for £30 i really would snap them up

poopipe
£1000 new probably, god knows.I'd guess if I were to buy everything on it new today it'd be somewhere around the 8-900 mark - I did manage to get a load of stuff very cheap in sales etc. thoughIt's painful to think about it when you consider they get dropped from great heights, dragged along the top of walls and generally smashed into stuff. Then again, in terms of value for money it all completely pisses on trials parts.
