BONGO
bmxers tend to be really arrogant.don't stereotype please Some people don't appreciate it...Also, i noticed talk about spokes... poopipe
further spoke things...is this legit? thehousebmx spoke length calculatorit gave me 187mm for a homer front on a hazard lite, 4 cross I've had results from a couple of other spoke calculators saying 185.3 - guess this may be down to them not taking flange fatness into account. Is the couple of mm going to make a lot of difference? do I err on the long or short side?ooh, found this Edited April 16, 2007 by poopipe

Anyway you know i didn't mean you aye I got mine on saturday. it's fun to say the least! but i'm back up in leeds now for ages.Give us a shout when your back.Hey poopipe told you it was 184. Even though it says 186 could of meant longer niples Oh the reason i came back here, almost fogot. As spoke before, why don't we have a tf bmx ride? I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get going, or would it
poopipe
Hey poopipe told you it was 184. Even though it says 186 could of meant longer niples just as well I checked really innit actually - I don't trust any of the information I've been given/found out from the interweb so I've got the nice man at alans to find out for me before they send em out. how many times do you reckon I should try to lace it before giving up and handing it over to a professional ?I'll come on a ride but I need at least a weeks notice and signed statements from those present that they won't laugh at me Edited April 16, 2007 by poopipe
Mark W
Just get a decent guide and work slowly and methodically through it. There's really nothing to building wheels, it's just following the simple steps. It's way easier than you think it is, just give it a crack. If you f**k it up 3 or 4 times it probably means you're a 'tard and therefore need to give it to someone to do, but from simply following a guide on the internet I built my first one and haven't really f**ked up any wheels since, and I taught my brother to do it and he hasn't f**ked any up either. It's really not that bad Regarding spoke lengths, a couple of mm either way isn't a big deal. I had to get spokes that were 2mm too short for my front wheel and it didn't matter, and I used spokes that were over 10mm too long for my back trials wheel before, and apart from taking the majority of my adult life to get them up to tension, they worked OK. The precision of them is just to help make it a little easier to build up right (and to dish a wheel correctly if it needs it, e.g. a MTB rear wheel). CurtisRider
where was it that had the parkinson frames on sale? i've made a big mother dent in my old parkinsons downtube and the toptube is getting curved...new frame time for pauly it seemsEDIT:whilst i'm here....gonna go to a u brake if i get a new frame, cos i just don't need that power now, my styles changed loads, is the evolver still a good brake, or is there much better for the money? gonna run some spanish flies and something like a tech 77? also feel free to make suggestions on frames, as long as its got similar geo to my current frame (supershort back end)im liking this alot Edited April 16, 2007 by pauloliver
eskimo
As for the wheel building just follow the Gsport guide. Don't bother with any tension untill your happy you've built it right. Then it's just a case of turning each nipple the same amount pretty much.I'll come on a ride but I need at least a weeks notice and signed statements from those present that they won't laugh at meThat sounds funny in itself.Anyhow.. the New Deal seems popular at the moment but dunno anything about how it rides or performs. The geo looks rather nice. Different to your current setup. The Evolver is still a quality brake for the money. The Fly one is a waste of time at the cost. No flex my ass. Also a good one to look out for is the Magic brake. Simple and cheap. Levers wise, the Tech77 has a nice feel but spongey and the Primo is pretty much perfect just a little expensive. poopipe
I like the look of those but if you've killed the parkinson maybe you ought to consider something a bit more on the solid side. a Sunday perhaps - I'm pretty sure you can still find them at bargain prices (<£100). I prefer it over the Tech77. I have both by the way.Appears that frame is really actually a Parkinson. Standard weight at 6lbs. But it isn't in stock so i would avoid.oooo, parkinsons are 95 herewill this bb be ok? its to fit powerbitesannnd what headset do i need? its say campagnlo, but internal headsets confuse me compatibility wisei think its gonna be between this parkinson or the ultra cheap 70quid treets i linked before....i cant decide, strength or weight weeny? That is the correct size for Powerbites. This is the headset you need. Which you probably guessed. But it is suppost to be the best internal HS on the market at the moment. The Magic is generally a nice and cheap brake. I bought it after not being impressed by the Fly contraption. As for the Evolver i would go for it. Has some nice little things about it. You also should enjoy the Primo lever.Colour, whatever you want really. Black doesn't really get boring like a red, blue or green does.20.75 all the way. I haven't really tried anything different for a long period of time. But as for a 21" tt i would definatly stay away from. It just makes the bike feel a little too long.I'd say 20.6 is probably a nice size. I wouldn't stray anymore from 20.5 and 20.8 to be safe. I found that it hurts my back somehow. I think maybe the long tt is too much effort for lifting and manuals.
