Is this inevadable or time to order new chain?

Been running my bikes with DIY tensioner to get rid of the loose/tight chain situation. Minimal on brand new chains and becomes noticeable after months.
I wanted to use chain tugs only but I really hate the loose part when it slaps into the chainstays

I can remember I do change my chains once it breaks:
1 year (KMX710)
10 months (KMC710SL)
8 months (z1ehx)
and now this is about 5 months (z1ehx did not break yet). Should I prepare backup now, or better safe than sorry?
Surely, I don't really know  I broke chains faster each year.

I am using steel chain ring and rear cog almost new as I took that video. Those shouldn't be oval  guess.
