Swoofty Posted yesterday at 02:45 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:45 AM I've noticed some companies listing the POE of their hubs in relation to certain gear ratios and not as an absolute number. POE is completely independent of any gearing. How many times does the hub engage per 360 degree revolution of the hub. That's it. Listing your POE in a gear ratio is just dishonest. I've never seen any other company do this except trials companies. What's up with that?
aener Posted yesterday at 07:41 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:41 AM I think I can take a guess, but just to confirm, which companies are these? That f**king stinks.
craigjames Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM Clean have done this for the last couple models of freehub, odd really. It certainly doesn't make a lot of sense. ALthough I guess it artificially increases the performance compared to their competitors rear freehubs and gives a more fair comparison against FFW set ups. Swoofty
Clean and Comas are doing this for their new pointless 120mm hubs. I hadn't considered that they would be comparing it to FFW setups. That does make a little sense then. BUT nowhere in the description do they state just the hubs POE. It's easy math to figure it out, but I'm still calling it deceptive. Can you imagine if Industry 9 listed their POE in relation to a 32x11 MTB ratio? Alex Dark
Ha I saw this the other day on Cleans website and thought it was pretty shady. It’s certainly not POE, more degrees until engagement.
