Rusevelt
Mens 20 and 26 added for those who wish to catch up. Hope both ShinDig and UCI can do more of these collaboration streams coverage...... WTF @ 20:22 Jack Carthy getting a 5 after doing the gap. It looks as if the observer is saying that jack frontwheel axle was passed the gate or yellow marker when he gapped. Couldn't hear what was said between jack and the observer. Would be a nice touch for everyone to be mic up for audio Edited November 24 by Rusevelt

Do you mean the multi time ex world champ Vincent Hermance? In the colourful shorts? He's French

What does everyone think of Jacks story? Think he will turn his back on UCI World Cups? He's got a bit of a history of feeling hard done by with the observers. Some of the calls were a bit suspect and inconsistent, maybe Jack just doesn't concentrate as much as he should when competing? Charlie was pretty flawless in the final. Eloi also thought he'd received a dodgy call/questionable route marking, he missed the final for the first time in a while.

More interested to hear the interactions with Jack and the observers, especially when he gets dished out with penalties. The 5 he got immediately after nailing a backwheel-to-backwheel gap jump was harsh.

What do you mean? You think he will ditch the trials bike and the comps and start papping clips up on Instagram on the mtb full time? Sounds like a great life if he could make that work. 49 minutes ago, Rusevelt said: The 5 he got immediately after nailing a backwheel-to-backwheel gap jump was harsh. Should he not have to follow the rules because he can go bigger than everyone else? if you're out of time or go over the tape, doesn't matter how big anything is (including your ego) so I'm not sure what you're meaning by "harsh". Possibly???as soon as you type in jack carthy look what comes up.last trials vid on YouTube was 3 years ago on his own account as such.not sure how long ago It was with Ali c.if he keeps getting hard done by.who knows.to me if the observer was in a better position as in side on to him he would of seen better then behind. Not sure there is an awful lot of money to be made as an MTB trials rider, Ackrigg is the only rider of that ilk that i actually enjoy watching. This is what I was referring to when I mentioned his lapses in concentration, it's not the first time he's lost a comp because he's missed gates completely or has been deemed to have gone the wrong side of a marker. Do you think his concentration dropped due to the 5pointer.

I mean i've only seen his riding from one camera angle, i can't see what he or the observer saw and i'm certainly not a sports psychologist! Canardweb
The UCI doesn't like when it's always the same person winning. It has always been this way. I have mad respect for the work Vincent has put in to keep his level and skills how they are. Very impressive at 40! But watching women trials is very boring I am sorry to say. There’s a interview with him on Bash guardian and he’s done alot of changes when switching from clean to crewkwerz bikes.says it’s helped him alot to be so competitive his age

If you follow road racing, track racing, or any other cycling races, you will see many times questionable penalties that hold teams or racers to win. Rules can be changed also quite dramatically to favor or penalize one team or one racer. And each time you can definitely predict it before it happens. They are just a bunch of old people who just want to make money out of media. And the best and most modern way to make that is to make people talk about you. 7 hours ago, A1T4 said: There’s a interview with him on Bash guardian and he’s done alot of changes when switching from clean to crewkwerz bikes.says it’s helped him alot to be so competitive his age I am impressed by the work he goes through and his determination but I am really not a fan of the person he is and the way he promotes himself so I won't read or listen to what he says. That follows with what I've seen in MTB, questionable rule changes etc. The UCI just doesn't seem to be that interested into aspects of cycling outside of the traditional road and track disciplines. 12 hours ago, Canardweb said: I am impressed by the work he goes through and his determination but I am really not a fan of the person he is and the way he promotes himself so I won't read or listen to what he says. In what way? I'm curious, I always thought he was the "good guy" in French trials, with Giles and his family having some questionable business ethics. The UCI doesn't care in any form of cycling anymore, they just want to make their investors happy. I don't want to insult anyone here. I have done so in the past and now my reputation is very bad in the trials world because I said many things I should probably never have. People didn't trust me or what I was saying even if it turned out to be true years later. I won't repeat that mistake and explain to you why that guy is very good at selling himself so you will have to try and make your opinion. But I can defend Gilles and his family because he is a lovely guy. I go and see him nearly once a year and I am happy to say we are friends. We have always told each other things how we wanted to tell them and it's not something you can do everywhere with everyone in France. I don't see what business you are talking about seeing they hardly have had any apart from their dad selling pads even cheaper directly than through distributors. Apologies, I've done some reading of old posts and it was the Koxx/Hashtagg issues and not paying suppliers, not Gilles and family. I've got my wires crossed.

Don't know what the heck you gonna on about but I'm referring to section 5A @20:00. Without really hearing any clear audio between jack and the observer, the observer is saying that jack frontwheel axle was passed the yellow of the gate at the point when he was balancing on the backwheel preparing for the gap, but Jack clearly demonstrated that his bike entered the gate marker cleanly frontwheel-to-backwheel before he launched across the gap. If that was not harsh to give jack a 5 penalty, I don't know what is. Ego has nothing to do with it, jack was going against remaining time to get all the sections.
