Hellaenergy
Hello all, how do you feel about the Hex now in 2024? Is the Hex still a favorite? Anyone know what's changed on the Hex since 2015? I'm looking at one from 2015 that's used atm and much cheaper than a brand new one. I'm wondering if I should go for it as a first street trials bike. It looks like it's in good condition. La Bourde
As far as I know, the geometry changed a little (e.g. shorter chain stays), the chain tensioner on the later models is better integrated and the frame now has a disc mount only. To be honest, even the first version is good enough for most of us... Not only for a beginner. Edited July 18 by La Bourde
Ross McArthur
I was going to mention that the older version may be better in terms of trying to find 1-1/8th steerer forks, but even those are fewer and farther between these days! I blame Ali for pulling all the steerers off them. Suss foooorks, now V brake specific ones. Jees man, save some for the rest of us. If you like riding skinnies, then the magura mounted (older) version is going to be better. There was one version of the Hex which had both the magura mounts and the disc mount but those are like hens teeth.
