Crewkerz Freed 3 Framekit Build (2015)

Recommended Posts

Built up my 2015 Crewkerz Freed 3 framekit today!  Thanks to @La Bourde for coming through.

I went a lil wild with the yellow rim tape and red nipples but I think it turned out pretty cool.  I went on a ride to see if the front brake had enough bite and I concurred I definitely need to grind the rim haha.  Also, I've had mixed experiences with Racing Line brakes in the past and so I'm hoping these hold up.

Cheers

Hello Robbie,

So happy someone as passionate as you bought the bike!

It looks nice even if the yellow is a little too much for my taste.

How does it feel? Is the bb too high?

Wish you a lot of fun and post some bids of you riding it! Can't wait to see you in action.

Haha I hear you.  Luckily I also have a black rear rim tape just in case. But I actually do like the yellow for now, its a bit flashy.

Bike feels great, like my old Meta VTT, just a little shorter.  I have the Clean 145 stem on it but might switch to your shorter stem as Im not used to this length yet

Looks so short compared to modern comp bikes haha. Nice clean looking build, though.

Know the weight?

Well actually modern comp bikes are about 1070 / 1065 wheelbase. Jack Carthy and Charlie Rolls mainly ride a 1060 wheelbase bike now.

Quite light, well done!

Do you still plan to ride a carbon fork?

Probably not, if anything I might get a 1 1/8 disc fork to quiet up the front.  The loud brake are pretty jarring coming from dual disc!  But this bike is fun, I'm getting on well with the geometry its' not too long, not too short.  just right.
