Chakers1998
Has anyone snapped one of these BBs or heard of anyone snapping one? Or has anyone snapped a Ti Isis BB of another manufacturer?
Mark W
I've seen some snapped Echo Ti BBs. Don't seem to recall seeing any snapped Trialtech or Reset BBs, but I'm sure someone will have done no doubt. The Trialtech ones should be pretty tough though, they're M14 rather than M15 so there's a bit more material in the axle.
Ross McArthur
Yep, at least 2 Ti echo bb axles.

Aye, the super long crank bolts finishing pretty much exactly where the crank splines did led to a stress riser. Shorter bolts help a lot. Never seen a failed axle on the Trialtech one, mainly because of the M14 thread, but also because of excellent quality and correctly sized crank bolts.

I’ve got a good Ti bb axle sitting waiting to be fitted and I was holding back. The good thing about the longer alloy echo bolts was they’re light. x2 shorter steel bolts might negate the weight saving using the Ti bb haha.
AdamR28
Monty or (fairly sure) Jitsie ones will work nicely. Or lop a bit off the Echo ones!
Ross McArthur
Did contemplate that! Now you’ve said it, it’ll need to be done.
Target
Speaking of bolts, there are some titanium M15 bolts that due to minimalistic design are actually lighter than aluminium Echo ones. They are short and have 10 mm hex socket. Have been using them for seven years with Echo ti BB.
