La Bourde
Hi, Ducan Shaw rides a new frame: Here on pinkbike Looks great to me, I like the paintjob and the name. Hopefully it is not only a one off and Marin will release the frame...
aener
That top-tube/seat-stay arrangement is hideous.

Totally ruins the look of an otherwise decent looking bike. Marin should have run with this one for the press release... 5
LEON
Is the extra clearance so he can crouch down even further for 2 full seconds after landing every....single....move? But yeah, that's gross, and surely that seat stay area is weaker than a conventional set up?
La Bourde
Not necessarily. The welds of the top tube and from the seat stays are further. Thus, the region is not heated too much. But I guess the reason here was to obtain an unconventional design.
LEON
I mean the seat stays are usually supported by kind of being a continuation of the top tube, with this there's nothing there to support them, the main force being drops, that'll just push them forward. A curved top tube like a Crescent Ilions should work better in theory.

My eyes have got used to the paint job now, but I think it misses the mark by some margin in terms of design details. At least he'll be able to run a 32T chainring though
La Bourde
I thought it was hydroformed first, but you are right, it is a gusset ...

Maintenance Justice
Dunno how I feel about this sort of thing. It’s great Marin are acknowledging Duncan’s Trials background and hopefully we’ll see more high profile content from him. Just seems a shame to do it using bikes you can’t buy but I suppose other street Trials brands many benefit from more awareness of Trials.
