isitafox
Just to be clear, this isn't about bowel issues during plane journeys! Walked in our kitchen last night about 22:00, walked up to the sink and suddenly there was a mad pulse of light outside in the sky that flashed once then disappeared. Didn't get a clear view as the sky was really misty but it made no noise and I went straight outside and couldn't see or hear anything afterwards. Can't have been an aircraft as it was too big and bright and I'm pretty sure I'd have heard it when I went out, could possibly have been a meteor but again seemed extremely big for that and I've been scouring meteor reporting websites and Twitter all morning looking for any info and there's nothing. Really, really weird......
Mikee
There are some unusual lightning phenomenons. Perhaps one of those.
Matt24.
I had a similar experience a few years ago and never worked it out. Was driving to work about 05:30 am. Massive slightly green flash in the sky, lit the whole sky up. Looked up any one else reporting anything and nothing. No noise with it either. Al_Fel
Any reason why it wouldn't have been lightening?

Rusevelt
Only thing I have noticed was the sky slightly orange yesterday, and photos of Northern lights in Scotland.
Topsy
Yeah, we've had a bit of that sahara dust around too.
