MTB_Trials_and_DNB.
Hi all, searching for a Star Fangled Nut to fit a 24” echo urban tapered fork. cannot find this part anywhere despite searching the net for a considerable time. Any ideas on alternatives? I’ve tried to file down a 1 inch star nut, to no avail, the diameter of the base of the nut is too large for the thick steerer tube. any thoughts appreciated! thanks
Luke Rainbird
What is the ID of your steerer? Tarty do a range of sizes, although not all currently in stock. Find them here
MTB_Trials_and_DNB.
Thanks Luke. I checked Tarty and they are out of stock of what I need. Where can I find the ID? Sorry new to this! im speaking with HB Trials from Canada, who have some 20mm and 22mm stock. I’m hopeful one these will fit
Mark W
Just measure the inner diameter of your steerer. You need a starnut 1-3mm wider than that.
MTB_Trials_and_DNB.
Thanks Mark, I have measured it at 19mm. hoping that the the company I have found will ship to the U.K. it’s a 22mm so if it’s a little too wide I’ll shave it down. crazy that this part is so hard to come by.
