MadManMike
Evening all! I'm looking to buy a set of wheels, ideally second hand and pretty cheap. I'll be sticking fairly slick tyres on to munch some road miles over winter - basically can't be arsed to keep swapping tyres on my current wheels, would rather swap wheels over. Ideally fitted with 160mm rotors and a 10 speed SRAM cassette, but no worries if not, I can source and fit them if need be. They must be bolt through type fit (Not sure of correct terminology, but the fat boi type rather than skinny quick release skewer). Anyone got a set spare after upgrading or whatever? Mikee
I've got a set. Nothing special, but they are a matching pair in good condition. You will have to bare with me for a few days, for me to dig them out. They are stored away and I am super busy at the moment.
MadManMike
OK cool, cheers - they don't need to be anything special, I just want to cover some miles on the road. My current wheels are good for throwing around on trails.
marg26
They must be bolt through type fit (Not sure of correct terminology, but the fat boi type rather than skinny quick release skewer). 142 x
monkeyseemonkeydo
And front probably 100 x 15?
Mikee
Dug them out. Unbranded hubs, but has got mavic rims. A box would be my next problem.
MadManMike
Cheers for the help on sizes, chaps. @Mikee they look good for what I need - how much are you looking for?
Mikee
@MadManMike Do you want to make me an offer? I haven’t thought about a price, as I was going to hang on to them as a spare set for my mtb.
MadManMike
I honestly have no idea what they're worth - so far I've only found bling Hope kit for £500 a pair, so I wouldn't know what to value these at. I'm looking for a cheap set of wheels, so I wouldn't want to insult you with a low ball offer
MadManMike
Oh and will a 10 speed SRAM cassette fit?

Depends if it's a standard HG cassette or XD. I would hazard a guess you've got a normal cassette so should be fine. XD on the left (newer style introduced by SRAM to allow smaller teeth numbers) and normal HG on the right (what pretty much everything was until they started playing gear wars. Mikee
I would be happy with £50 plus postage. A 10 speed cassette will fit fine, as long as it’s not a SRAM XD cassette.
MadManMike
It is a standard HG, yeah, so ideal then. Cheers @monkeyseemonkeydo @Mikee - that price sounds good, let me know your PayPal and how much postage to add. I'd suggest Hermes for postage, I sent out loads of car parts recently and they seem reasonable. Cheers mate!
Mikee
I will source a box and get back to you
