dnt82100@bcaoo.com
Got a square taper Middleburn crankset with the pro trials bashguard and replaceable 22t chainring. The cranks show scars from my crap riding but otherwise fine but bb, bashring & chainring all need replacing. Just wondering what the options for replacing the Pro Trials Bashring are? It's loose on the crank. Didn't want to get too spendy if possible. Is the fitting "type-x"? And if the above, any recommended 5 bolt 22t chainrings recommended? Otherwise, are there any other bashring/chainring options to fit on the Middleburn cranks?
the judge
The fitting for the bashguard was specific to those cranks, so you would have to replace it with another middleburn bash. There was the pro trials one for 22t chainrings or a smaller 16t one with a built in chainring. If the current bash is loose though it might just need the lockring tightening. It needs an old shimano bb tool for the lockring, like this: https://www.wiggle.co.uk/park-tool-compact-bottom-bracket-tool-bbt-18/?lang=en&curr=GBP&dest=1&sku=54956&kpid=54956&utm_source=google&utm_term=&utm_campaign=Shopping+-+All+Products&utm_medium=base&utm_content=mckv|sdykBgmkb_dm|mcrid|295296961877|mkw||mmt||mrd|54956uk|mslid||&mkwid=sdykBgmkb_dm&pcrid=295296961877&prd=54956uk&pgrid=57437518777&ptaid=pla-523618151708&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7ovil7Tg6QIVS7TtCh0dPQadEAQYCiABEgIdK_D_BwE
Private Repress
You could also buy a middleburn spider for those cranks and then fit a different bash guard of your choice... that’s what I did:

marg26
I asked about bashring replacement for these earlier this year. The Lifeline X-tools BB 8 prong tool is a bit cheaper than the Park Tools one & does the job. Presume they're both the same? Can't tell as product listings provide different measurements and compatible products
