megamomac
Hi guys, any advice for how long a set of forks should be to suit a frame with 60mm BB rise? I've got two choices at the moment. 400mm and 440mm from centre of dropout to bottom of fork crown. The 400s seem ok and the 440s seem high but just as comfortable to ride. Any thoughts? isitafox
What are the forks and frame in question? The +60 BB measurement is based on a certain set of forks so it will depend on the A-C measurement of the forks it was designed for.
megamomac
I've got a 2006 GU typhoon (one of the old guys that got bored in lockdown and finished a deserted project) Fork choices are: pashley 26mhz (400mm height) Kinesis of some sort (440mm ish height) Cheers
isitafox
Pashley for sure, the kinesis ones will be based on replacing suspension forks hence the massive size
La Bourde
Most 26" trial frames are designed around a 400-410mm axle-to-crown fork. An A-C from 440mm is either for a DJ bike or an old 26" cross country mountain bike. For each 20mm more, your head tube angle decreases of about 1 degree. The bottom bracket height increased from about 7-10 mm. I think it is important to have a steep head angle in trial. It helps when beeing on the front wheel.
