josh barker
hi guys, just started getting back into riding after nearly 10 years, ive just got a zoo python and im wanting to refresh a few parts on it, obviously one of the first being the chain, i remember running the kmc kool chain with the handy little joining link, are these still recommended? or do riders now have a new preference with newer products, ideally 1/8 . many thanks
robkerly
yep the kool chain kmc 710 is pretty much as good as it gets in my opinion. the 610 claims to be the same strength, but without having one side built up for bmxers to grind on. just make sure you get one with the strong split link (3 pieces)
aener
If 1/8" is what you need, KMC Z510 HX. No question. You DEFINITELY want the HX though. Don't go getting the regular Z510 just to save £3 - they're no good for trials. "HX" denotes heat-treatment, and makes them ~5x better from my personal experience. The Z510 HX and the Z610 HX use the same plates. The only difference is the length of the pins to make them 1/8" or 3/32" respectively. Never used better.
CC12345678910
I second this, must be the HX version. Used to be a Z710 Kool man but they stretch soo much by comparison and have an unnecessary weight penalty to boot. The 510HX is just a better made thing. I needn't look anywhere else.
