Brian Bleech
I haven’t a clue about discs brake so. a) Magura MT Sport b) Shimano XT M8000 c) Shimano Zee M620 Anything else worth considering that is good value? The M6000/7000?
Matt24.
I am currently running Deore-6000. Front 180 green ebc pads a rear 160 with red ebc pads on a 24”. Front is spot on rear lacks hold a little but bite is good - planning to buy a rear zee caliper and 180 disc then should be spot on. I used exact same setup on a 20” alias and for that they were great. I like the fact if I smash up a lever it’ll be 20 quid to replace. They feel very solid at bite point - not spongy at all. I have hit them on the ground / walls a few times and seem to have held up to and they are really easy to bleed and swap cables about if running through internal routing. Think if you have a mod deore m6000 is powerful enough but on a 24 a rear zee or 4 pot is needed.
marg26
I find with Zee & standard Zee pads on my 24" Console I have to consciously grab the rear a little harder than the front. But that might just be a beginner getting used to needing lots of brake on the rear. Question: Trialtech Sport or EBC red?
Matt24.
I’m about to fit a set of XT’s in about a week with Trialtech so maybe able to let you know then. I have found ebc reds pretty good even on the single pot deore
