Sorry for the horrible screen shots too.. Spotted this post the other day so sorry to dig up and old topic. I have the above frame. It’s done the rounds a lot. James (Student) had it, Dave the rocket, Leon also rode it for a while, then Luke (Toby) and finally my self. It was nicknamed the coke can due to the dent on the bottom side of the downtube. If I recall if you used the left foot forward it would sound like a coke can. It’s been in the top of the garage for a few years. Before the last respray it had the brake mounts removed so was disc only. I quickly threw some bits on it to show it off. It’s now back on the garage roof. Hope the photos are of use. Would see it if anyone wanted to make an offer Edited July 10, 2020 by PLIW

the judge
No idea what the geo was like, and I’m pretty sure they used to crack around the top/downtube gusset, but I always had a thing for the Rocket Fab frame. Couldn’t find a decent picture of one built up, sorry!
David Biddle™
I carnt seem to find a photo but Ben savages prototype Ashton in silver i was hoping that version of the frame would of been released (didn't know if the geo was different from the diamondback justice but from what I could make out it was longer with a higher bottom bracket). TrialsMan Dan
Saw this thread being revived somewhat. Some interesting and quality machines being mentioned here! My pick would be: Danny Mac's Mk1 Inspired Fourplay - early production white one with the Tioga rims and black forks, blue Hope hubs. If i remember rightly he was running Easton carbon bars? The Monkey DH ones? Ali C's prototype Arcade as has been mentioned before with the silver rims from Clean 002. On a similar note, Mark Westlake's stealthy brakeless example from the same video. Also from Ali's bike history - the British Racing Green Hex he rode brakeless. This one (not a very good representation of the colour rightly enough!) Also looks like he drilled an old Mavic rim on this? Next up Hans Rey's GT Zaskar trials - I remember seeing this in an old MBUK feature and aside from the sketchy looking bar and stem set up, I always thought this was one sweet looking bike and I'm not sure it ever appeared all that much. Finally a couple from Mr Ashton - some prototypes that didnt make it to production. A real shame as the Licence frame looks like the perfect all round play bike. These are some scans from old MBUK's not long after I got into riding about '06/'07. This one is some kind of prototype Orange (weren't Orange making the Ashton frames around then?) The all black Justice someone mentioned as ridden by Rowan Johns is a pretty good shout too! Notice a theme here? I like my bikes looking pretty simple yet looking effective at their intended purposes. Nothing fussy or overly designed.
onzatpro09
I'd definitely have to say @Ali C's Arcade from the launch video with the gold rims. That released about a year after I started riding, although I was only a moto trials guy dabbling in bicycles at the time. I met Ali at 2013 Tartydays with that bike and had no idea who he was but the riding I saw blew my mind! Luckily for me I got a private coaching session with him that weekend (bear in mind I couldn't sidehop up a single pallet at that point!) and then fell off and split my shorts from front to back doing exactly that haha. Nobody told me about the hole though so I carried on oblivious Proceeded to go back to the hotel that night to watch all of Ali's videos that I could find. That bike really reminds me of when trials was all new and innocent to me

That was the worst thing about his set up for me. The bars felt so stiff and like they had a down sweep feel. After riding my bike with Azonic 2.5s on he tried them on his bike but soon went back to the Eastons as the Double Walls felt far too snap happy. Also looks like he drilled an old Mavic rim on this? Yes. A drilled disc Mavic. A modification of beauty. Would have liked to have seen that on the latest vlog! A real shame as the Licence frame looks like the perfect all round play bike. Forgot about those ones! This one is some kind of prototype Orange (weren't Orange making the Ashton frames around then?) I think Orange only made some prototypes. I have Ali's Mk3 prototype in the store which has a dirty bike Orange Bikes logo on the chain stays and seat tube. Good post Dan.

You're not alone, haha. I know my current bike technically rides better than that one did (saved 0.5kg from the crankset, saved a chunk from the wheels, think the Contis are technically better than the Holy Rollers, tubeless4lyf), but I think that was peak 'My bike' time. The knowledge of how much I liked riding that bike still makes me want to take my brakes off again, but then the lack of fun brakeless spots where I am now knocks things back... Think that's the closest photo I have to what it was like around 002. We weren't really allowed to show anyone photos of it so I don't really have any unfortunately. Still remember the first ride with prototype Arcade bars on it from Trialtech High Rise bars. That was a good day.

sharn
I know, a friend showed me this last week.. If I had the cash Id love to buy it back! It's a really nice bike and the mods the next owner after me had done are nice additions IMO. £950 a little steep but it is a one off. Id say well worth £750 though, if it's what you're after! Great do it all geometry
