Dylan
Hi, I’ve been hiring go karts at my local track and have now decided I want to purchase my own. I would like to start competing, could anyone offer advice on the best classes and how I should go about buying my kart. I also would like some info on how much fuel and tyres cost and the best place to buy them, also how much maintenance they need every race. MadManMike
You are aware this is a bike trials forum, yeah? I notice this is your first post, so it looks like you signed up just to ask this... That said, TF members seem to know a lot about most things so you may be in luck. monkeyseemonkeydo
Your best bet would be to get along to a local race and have a chat in the paddock. I think as with many things there's a large range of budgets and 'seriousness' involved in karting but it depends on the class whether you'll be dealing with people out to have a laugh and do a bit of racing at the weekends to those who are preparing to be the next Lewis Hamilton, spending tens of thousands a year travelling all over Europe to get noticed.
