Ross McArthur
Pretty chuffed 22/18 works as a magic gear. Still have to bleed the brakes, put on rear pads and pedals but other than that she's good to go!

Al_Fel
Is that a Martin Hawyes filthy ard guard? I think that's what they were called it was a long time ago haha.
Tony Harrison
Amazing! Initially I thought this was a 'for sale' thread and I was going to have to have it!! Even though I still have my own one. That frame/geo with those bars was the most fun setup I ever had. Love it, hope it gets some use!
Mikee
I need me some red brakes for mine. Nice job Bob Ross.
Ross McArthur
You think? I thought the red brakes were too much! I'd prefer just normal black. I even seen the Ivon Saunders videos of Gavin Bedford riding the proto with it all silver... So nice.

I think if you had the red forks and/or red seat, it would be too much. But with the black parts and being the only red bits other that the graphics and rim tape, I think it looks amazing! Tony Harrison
I had a pair of those red forks in 2005 and they bent, easily, on the first ride I went on. Ashton Bikes changed them for a replacement pair with no drama, so I think they must've had a bad batch. Anyone else have a similar experience? Luke Rainbird
I had a set that ended up doing something similar. Think they had about 100mm of rake by the time I replaced them - BB dropped by around 15mm and the wheelbase grew significantly! Mine were second hand so I didn't ever approach Ashton Bikes about it, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was down to iffy heat treating or something. Tony Harrison
Yeah that's exactly what happened to mine. I was trying to pretend they looked normal and hadn't changed until someone else on the ride said it was just getting silly now... I reckon iffy heat treatment for sure. Luke Rainbird
Weirdly coincidental, but turns out it's the 10 year anniversary of discovering those forks were bent. How odd!
Mikee
I broke 2 pairs of those forks above the disc brake mount. Never bent them.

Davetrials
I had one of these and loved it at the time, but in hindsight is that back end a bit long? the stays look long
Tony Harrison
I think it's just the angle of the seat tube making it look like that. From memory they are 385mm.
Ross McArthur
Ahh, when my hair was long, spirit free and 5mm meant nothing. I remember the Ghz coming out and having 380 stays and being blown away. The double seat stay design was was ahead of its time. Anyway, back on topic. To make a vid, or not to make a vid?
