onzatpro09
Hi chaps, I remember seeing that somebody was machining up a bolt-in axle conversion for front Hope hubs? I've got a QR fitted to my Pro 4 at the moment but it's not quite up to it so would like a hefty pair of bolts holding it instead. Can anybody point me in the direction of whoever was making these up? Cheers

I thought it was Euan, but wasn't completely sure as I know there's a few machinists on here
SebJT
You can buy a taping kit and some bolts to DIY it’s pretty easy and will cost ~£20 https://www.tartybikes.co.uk/steel_bolts/onza_m5_axle_bolt_and_washers_kit/c523p11735.html?pos=2076&search_params=YTo3OntzOjEyOiJjYXRlZ29yeV9pZHMiO2E6MTp7aTowO3M6MzoiNTIzIjt9czoxNjoiY2F0ZWdvcnlfcmVjdXJzZSI7YjoxO3M6ODoia2V5d29yZHMiO3M6MDoiIjtzOjk6ImJyYW5kX2lkcyI7TjtzOjQ6Im1vZGUiO3M6MzoiYWxsIjtzOjQ6InNvcnQiO3M6OToicHJpY2VfYXNjIjtzOjEwOiJjb3VudHJ5X2lkIjtpOjE7fQ%3D% https://www.screwfix.com/p/tap-die-set-10-pieces/3783V?kpid=3783V&ds_kid=92700030952053079&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1249481&ds_rl=1249796&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9LPYBRDSARIsAHL7J5lm1KL1oyEddbrH_XrI-EIUOqKL1BLWmKHk7aVmUa5a0qhqqe3yOLMaAoFREALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CM2pusbGq9sCFYSlUQodvPUFEA Edited May 29, 2018 by SebJT
trialsalot
If you just tapped the QR axle adaptors you could still pull the fork legs apart as they just push in by hand. Eaun's is a full axle
Mark W
In the mean time, the bolt-up QRs worked better for me than the paddle types do. You lose the QR functionality for obvious reasons, but they do tend to hold in place better.
Mikee
@Mark W I've snapped a couple of those. I put it down to the twisting forces across it's long length, rather than pulling forces from the QR cam.
