Shadytree
Spox tried something similar about 15 or 20 years ago.
AndyT
“In use, the idea is that all of the spokes will constantly be at the correct tension at all times regardless of what the terrain is doing, leaving an equal amount of pressure on all spokes, nipples and the rim bed.” would be damn interesting to ride... not sure if good for us or not...in my mind everything new and light is flexy (2005 maggie = brick, any new maggie = melted butter). a little scared about colored carbon fiber bikes/parts... people don’t make good decisions. aesthetics have disappeared

Given that most riders still use ISIS, or even square tapered bottom brackets, I wouldn't expect anything soon

Mark W
"When the wheel is built, the Pi Rope spokes have around 7-8mm of 'preload,' which means they can be compressed up to 8mm while holding the same tension." MTB hype generators are off the charts these days, unless they're just subscribing to that "Alternative Facts" way of looking at things.
AdamR28
And why make them 8 times stronger? Maybe they just like the number 8 so every stat to do with those wheels is an 8? I love the idea and I can see it working well, but marketing bullshit can do one!
cwtrials
Conceptually it makes a ton of sense! Let's see how it works. Like so many other MTB concepts, even if it works better and is genius, it'll take a fairly large portion of the market to adapt the tech for it to stick more than a year or so.
