Rory Semple
Interested to see what others think of Danny’s new full carbon trials bike? I think it looks brilliant especially with the internal cable routing. https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en-US/danny-macaskill-trials-bike
Tony Harrison
Interesting concept, good article too which explains the processes behind it.
stirlingpowers
I love the matching forks/frame/wheels thickness and the carbon peek logo. The tensioner does look a bit exposed, but Danny knows his sidehops, so it probably won't matter. @Ali C Do you by any chance know the diameter of the rear axle? It does look a bit small to me to be a 12 mm.
Ali C
it's 12mm yeah
stirlingpowers
Thank you! Now we'll just have to bug them to mass-produce it (and probably rake up a huge deficit in the process...)
ItsMatt
I've always wanted to take out a mortgage on a trials frame

AndyT
Looks like a pocket bike. I’d take a 2002 Santa Cruz chameleon over that, least it looks like a bicycle. Can’t get behind future carbon giant tubes, would love to see him ride it though! edit just watched bike check, carbon custom 24” rims! Carbon cranks.. 20mm front and 12mm rear... tubeless how much does does it weigh? Amazing bike built just for him, hope we see him ride it. trialsalot
Weighs about 9.5kg.
Ali C
It's the same as my Hex
Rory Semple
So what are the advantages of it being carbon then? I assumed it would be much lighter. Does anyone know if the geometry differs from the Skye at all?
Ali C
potentially stronger, most breaks happen on welds...no welds = no weak points (obviously breaks can still happen but you get the idea)
LordMersey
I think it looks really cool. Also an interesting step for trials, be interesting to see if any other company try making full carbon trials bikes.

As far as I know, and for pure trials, we have Breeth, Camin, Clean, Monty, Taboo, all 20" bikes, and the 26" Clean K1.

JohnyMilton
Like the colour, but I don't think its a good looking bike, I think where the top tube and down tube meets the headtube is hideous. Still its cool to hear that it was made in house, I imagine if it were to be put into production it would be ridiculous over priced like most Santa Cruz bikes nowadays. Never thought I would see Danny on a carbon trials bike though. Interesting to watch how it goes, after reading the article about the oven.....
