Ross McArthur
So the older piston is longer, fits the magura spring and has two O rings. The new piston is shorter, two O rings and what looks like a separate set of wipers. Are there any advantages to be had with the shorter piston? Would more fluid be in the brake with the shorter version? Minimal amounts I'm sure.. Anyone had any experience with both to compare? niconj
I noticed no difference between the two.
Mikee
I had one of those, I think it was the older one. I had problems with slow return speeds, which I couldn't seem to get rid of no matter what it tried. So I stopped using it after about a month. Alex Dark
The newer one looks to have wear rings or backup rings installed . The former will help support the piston and prevent scoring against the bore ; the latter will allow the o ring to tolerate higher pressures without extruding / deforming ( not needed due to the low pressures involved )
LEON
I think I've got one of each, all I know is they've saved old worn levers that I couldn't get to work properly with standard pistons.
trialsinfrank
The old one worked and new one was shit for 2 riders here in magura 05. Clean spring makes a nice difference too.
