Probably because the disc mount would snap off after not a lot of riding? Ever done a drop gap to a rail with a rear disc on a big wheel? No thanks lol. To be fair it's one of the better disc mounts for that era of trials but it still wouldn't hold up that well today. Must admit I haven't ridden it yet as need to get the rear wheel re laced up. But I have a longer Thompson Stem sitting around spare if need be.
