bentley
Hi all. I have an inspired fourplay 2013 i think, purple coloured 1. I've just bought an inspired console frame kit. I was hoping to swap all the parts over on to. But the console has a bolt through axel, would the trial tech hub from my fourplay be compatable? As on the tarty bikes site there is a trial tech hub that says it came standard on the console? But appears to have to two 5mm Allen key bolts on the picture the same as mine. Also when I fitted the rear wheel I had to slightly pull the frame open for the wheel to slot in to the drop out but it seemed as though the chain tensioners would not fit due to lack of space is this normal? Am I missing something? Am I stupid? Or is the trial tech hub from my fourplay to wide? And lastly, I replaced the xt crankset on my mountain bike recently as all the chainrings were worn and it was cheaper to buy a complete crankset than it were to replace the chainrings alone. Would it be possible to fit the xt crankset with my existing chain ring and bashring and would they fit the console? Sorry for the novice questions guys, I ask on here as I know it's the best place to get an answer as you lot are alot more clued up than I am. Cheers Ben. Dman
I don't think the hub is compatible. Rear wheel should fit fine without spreading the rear end, what tensioners, the console ones? If the xt cranks are 64/104bcd the chairing and bashing should fit.

Both Trialtech Sport Disc (M6 bolts, 5mm allen key head) and Sport HD Disc (M10 bolts, 8mm allen key head) hubs fit the Console. They're all 135mm spaced so you shouldn't have any issues. It might be the frame itself is tight for some reason, but if you only need to splay the frame a small amount that's not so bad. If it's majorly out then it suggests something is up. Christiaan
Just buy a set of adapters for the fork to fit a normal QR hub. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/fork_spares/inspired_arcade_fork_adaptors/c572p12292.html Edited December 22, 2016 by Christiaan

bentley
Thanks for the replys I didn't have much time to mess about with it so will have a mess about with it over Christmas. I did see those adaptors but thought I may as well get a bolt through front hub surely it will make it stiffer with a bolt through axel. Think ill just use the truativ hoses felt cranks from my fourplay save having to mess about with the xt cranks. Will let you know how I get on. Cheers. jamesb
It's fine to need to spread the frame a touch. Make sure the tensioners are on the outside. I had to file off a thick bit of paint on the drop out to get my tensioners in. Check that. It's normal for this to happen every now and then. I see it on disk brake mounts of Trek and Specialized bikes I build at work. Yeah, adaptors for the front hub. I rode them for a bit, solid. No idea on cranks, give er a go! Cheers dude will have a mess with it. May go for the adaptors, it will get me rolling sooner and can order a hub in the future. Only had to pull the frame slightly by hand so Im sure theres nothing to worry about.
