niconj Posted October 14, 2016 Report Share Posted October 14, 2016 (edited) What do you recon? Would it be possible to mount this tensioner on my 4play 2012? I currently run the Trialtech tensioner but the tension isn't quite how I like it. I would like to run the Rohloff like in this picture but I'm not sure if the spring is strong enough to withstand it mounted this way. On the other hand, from what I can see the tensioner arm is just shorter, the rest seems to be the same. I am also not sure if the chain length defines how the Rohloff is set up. Ross McArthur Posted October 15, 2016 Report Share Posted October 15, 2016 You'll be better off with the long arm one. The short one might mean the jockey wheel will sit too close to the cog. I advise, long arm, run it parallel with the chain stay with a tight chain. The Rohloff tensioner has one of the strongest springs on any tensioner you'll find. Dman Posted October 19, 2016 Report Share Posted October 19, 2016 I used to run a rohloff on my fourplay, cant remember if it was long or short, so not much help, it was a nice tensioner, seemed a lot more durable than the trialtech. I also saw the hope jockey wheels... very nice but probably a waste of money. The Tacx the Rohloff comes with are proven to be reliable even though the don't have the bling.
