Regardless of that there are quite a few helpful people on here who have also dabbled with engines at some point so feel free to stick around! To answer your question I'd say there's no way those two should be touching. A quick Google shows the support arm bolting to the other side of the fork mount: So you may then need to space the arm off the hub slightly so that it clears the brake arm. The other thing to do would be to file/grind some clearance into the support arm so that it no longer fouls. That's what I'd do anyway...
