Greetings
So where do I stand with this? It's 112mm. If I'm not mistaken, minimum is 130mm? That's a big stretch, what's the worst that can happen?
ooo
The alu insert doesn't go down very far in mine, do you know which version you have ?, I don't think it will break instantly but depending on how big you go this sort of thing will happen (Although this one looked like it didn't have any insert at all):
Greetings
It's the first one they released. I don't stress the bike too much but still if this is mechanically unsound, I'd rather just install an Echo fork than wreck a perfectly good TA. That snappage in the link is nasty... ooo
TNN used to make a reinforcing brace / insert. But even if you could find it, it would probably be too short. Maybe someone or tarty can make one for you that is long enough, then you just need to find the right type of glue. I'd personally just post it to tarty and get them to do it all for me. I have two of these sitting in my parts bin from when I had my trials shop in USA. I ordered them right before the 2nd version was released. If you (or anybody else) wants one it'd just be cost of shipping from USA for a brand new TNN insert. But still.... that is really short. I'm not 100% sure what the minimum height is. Greetings
We glued a handlebar into those forks (very snug fit actually) using a proper bonding agent. Anyway, isn't the insert just something that will save your face when the steerer breaks?
AdamR28
Not if the insert is fitted correctly - it'll be structural.
