Paperclip
Project frame bag! I am looking for a bag that a 24" frame would fit in also the bars and stem to slide in with it to as the brakes still going to be connected. Its for a new toy as a option to drive a car to rides instead of my van (depending on work sometimes it's a right faf to unload my van of tools to go ride and then load them back up). dk2
Hi ive had bike bag's before, but i find they are to heavy to use on planes. Instead i went for a big hockey bag (it has wheels so you wont have to carry the bike(most sports shops has them))...Bike fits nicely(wheels, pedals and stem is taken off) and total weight is under 20kg, so it can be check in as a regular bag. inside the bag i wrap the bike in bobble plastic and add some extra padding on dropouts and brakes... just my 2 cents

I have a bike bag for holidays I am just wanting something to be able to pack the bike up to fit in the passenger seat of a car with the wheels in the trunk. Its a a boxster and I'd like to keep the front of the car pretty clean and unmarked ideally. Not bothered about the wheels or stem as it'll only take about 5 mins to set up for a ride. i_wanna_trials
That? Thats the Seasucker mini Bomber I think its called. They are supposed to be really good, but loads of people are questioning it. I was going to get one for my car if I could afford it :L. Mark W
Fuuuuuuck that noise. I've had 'proper' bike racks fall off a car before, screw leaving it to something like that! I'd always want some kind of backup/tether kind of feature. Could you not just get away with some kind of blanket/throw type setup Luke? Just something to chuck over the seat/footwell of the car so it'll keep everything nicely covered, and you can just roll it up and throw it in the boot when you're out riding?
Paperclip
Update: So the wheels do fit into the trunk of the can and the frame pretty much just about fits into the boot of the car, so I just need to get some kind of blanket like Mark says to stop the frame and bars hitting each other. It's not going to be the usual commute to rides but on the odd day if the weathers like today it'll be nice to take the car instead. Slightly more room than an Mx5 I imagine @Mark W
Mark W
Haha, I'd hope so. My MX5 cost less than my frame though so I'm not super worried about how my bashring scuffs the underside of the glove box when I squeeze my bike into the passenger footwell But yeah, I got some super cheap pretty thick blanket thing from Ikea and that lives in my car (mainly the Peugeot). It's good enough to put between bikes and stop them damaging each other, so should be fine to just throw over the seat/footwell of your car to stop your bike marking anything. Even if you ride natural and get muddy all the dried mud would just drop onto that, so you can just flick the blanket out at the end of a drive and get rid of any. We've actually got some random Echo frame bags as it happens, but I don't think you'd really be able to fit much more than a bare frame (with cranks, possibly...) in there.
