bike_dummie
Hi, Just a quick question, ordered some parts form paragon machine works and my headtube ID looks too big. What's the diameter of the part of the headset that presses into the frame? Thanks, Adam.
Mark W
34mm I believe?
bike_dummie
Thanks, that sounds about right. My headtube is around 45mm ID. Least I know what headset to buy now. Thanks!
Mark W
44mm is internal if that's any help?
bike_dummie
Now I'm confused. If you was to measure the ID of the frames headtube with say a bore mic, what figure would you get? Mine is around 45mm.
bike_dummie
It's 44mm sorry, this is my headtube - http://www.paragonmachineworks.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=HT2007
Mark W
Yeah, that'd need an internal headset from what I can tell. A standard 1 1/8" headset cup is 34mm OD, and a 1.5" cup is way bigger that. An internal headset cup is 44mm OD.
bike_dummie
Ah I see now, so I'd need one of these? http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cane-Creek-40-Zerostack-1-1-8-inch-Headset_44779.htm?sku=115404&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=AdwordsProductAds&utm_campaign=Adwords&gclid=COag46PXicwCFdS7GwodxtcC8Q
Mark W
Possibly - Cane Creek's random way of describing their headsets is always pretty odd to me. Basically, anything like this would be fine.
