old boy chez
Does any body use them ? I know one of my pals don't belive in them and just says they are a death trap . But I am asking the trials family who uses them , who don't , and who nearly died from one ?
MartMini
my mate ran one on his limey. i had a go on it, did 3 gaps and snapped a link in half. I've ran a single half link when dealing with crap chainstay lengths/gear ratios and had no problem with that, but i wouldn't run a full half link chain

Mark W
Some of the more high end half link chains (generally the Shadow Conspiracy ones) are better than they used to be, but they're still flawed just because of the nature of the design. They're always going to want to stretch more than a regular link, and that's inevitably going to lead to them being weaker. Running a single one's not as bad because at least you can keep an eye on it, but if you can avoid it it's worth doing.
