Best short feeling current 26" pure frames

What are some of the best short feeling 26" pure trials frames out right now.  I'm on an Ozonys Curve V right now, and it's nice and all, but I want to go back to something shorter.  My question doesn't just pertain to how it feels, but also to quality.

Since people will ask, "why". Shorter pure bikes with conservative bar angles are fun for adding spins, and streety style moves.  And at 5'9", I'm not exceptionally tall either.

Some frames I was considering.

The new Echo, I liked my Mark IV and Mark III.  Has anyone actually got on one yet?
Roxxor 26, seems short.
Breath Yess.  It was super short, but is the quality decent?
Koxx Sky IV.  Out of principle I probably will avoid it even if it was awesome.

Any other suggestions?

Are you thinking of the standard or 'Ti' version of the Echo frame Craig?  The standard version is pretty much the same as the ones you've had before.  The Ti version is really nice though, definitely a step up from what they've done before (Y)

I saw a couple changes to the seat stay, brake mounts, and headset. Was there any change to geo? I thought it was the same as last year.

The actual reach of the frame is the same but they've slackened the head angle off a touch so it's now got a slightly longer WB.

Those changes you mentioned are the big ones though.  Integrated booster setup works well, new BB yoke is pretty sweet, and the switch to tapered is a good shout.  Even without those upgrades I think I'd still prefer the press-fit BB, integrated headset and integrated tensioners - makes life way simpler than the other frames you mentioned.

The upgrades look pretty sweet! Is the frame much stiffer?  Has anyone actually ridden one?

It seems to be stiffer from a quick 'test', yeah - if you lean the bike over and press down on the pedal/crank sideways to twist the frame, it's a lot more resistant to that than I/we were expecting.  Haven't had a chance to properly ride one though unfortunately, just had a quick go on one we built up for photos.  Can't really draw too much of a conclusion for that as I'm not the biggest fan of the front ends Echo spec.

The new tapered Urban forks are mega stiff feeling (joys of having a super thick steerer I guess) so I imagine the two of them would be a nice combination!

Out of those frames I'd go with the Control too. It's just such a complete product with some very elegant solutions. You are definitely going to benefit from M6 brake mounts, integrated tensioners and a press fit BB a hell of a lot more than from some of the gimmicks other companies are now charging for.

Also heard nothing but positive feedback from owners with stiffness being praised most of all.

Does anyone have thoughts on the Breath Yes frame?  Specifically anyone have experience without upsidedown carthy bars?  The geometry of it really intrigues me, but I'm not sure if it would be a disaster to ride.  Quality?

Talk to Joe Janicki. He rides one with the bars rolled pretty far back and it feels awesome!!
