ooo
I'm trying to find some winter clothes suitable for riding. As it has got colder I have to wear jeans more often but I can't go a big in them. I was wondering if any one had any suggestions for warm jog/track pants that can stand up to wind rain etc... but are light enough to ride in. Also coats/jackets that are flexible, I use a light plastic coat but I tend to tear through them in the arm pit and they hinder my tuck position getting real tight over my lats. Any suggestions ? cheers lads

N.Wood
Merino under layer, t shirt or whatever then a thin windproof softshell over the top should be warm enough once you get going but not restrictive or too hot.
HarryBradbury
As above ^ Don't ever buy cheap merino though, itchy as fu*k. Icebreaker merino is the only way to go. For the trouser dilemma, plenty of companies (mainly outdoor brands) do semi-water resistant denim like trousers with a water resistant coating to withstand rain & wind. (Search Kuhl Revolvr). And again, same as above, some type of softshell jacket will be stretchy enough to avoid ripping and will also provide a water and wind resistant coating. ogre
i don't feel the cold so i'm not always the best for advice on this but merino or upper body is great; it will maintain your temperature even when it's wet i use these tops. and full length lycra tights with shorts to keep my legs warm.
