87Monty
Some days ago i oil the sprocet, freewheel and chain with WD40 spray to clean alittle around and lube up the chain again wide some chain spray, but i think it have got to my pads on my Hope calipper,,before all this i wash the bike aswell the brakes too with water inside where the pads sit to remove brakedust, the day after it was dry the rear brake sucks.. The front brake is still perfect after water wash, but the brake in rear is not so good now, i try to use a tool to make the pad more better on the surface because they look polished, and i use some very fine sandpaper on the disc rotor, it helps, but it still not good as it was before, i think the pads are standard, im thinking to replace them with the jitsie pads, but still wounder if the pads have drink some water include some WD40 spray, i spray only on sprocket and chain but i guess it have go down to the calipper aswell.. Should i try some sandpaper on the pads maybe?
isitafox
Water on the pads won't have ruined them, sounds like the wd40. Get some Jitsie or Trialtech pads on there, you won't regret it!
LEON
Never EVER do that around a disc brake. One drop of WD40 can ruin your pads.
