crashbanggg
My new (ish) bike came with a Reverb Dropper post, which was great when it worked, not so great when it doesn't. It has stopped coming up when I press the lever on the handlebar. It will pull up by hand, but sucks straight back down when let go, as if it has created a vacuum. I have checked the air pressure which is at the relevant 250psi. Will bleeding the system fix my issue? I know f**k all about them and hoping to head up to Scotland on Thursday so need to ideally get it sorted tomorrow!!
monkeyseemonkeydo
Sounds like a bleed is required.
forteh
Would be the first port of call for me. Check the sram website, they have full service instructions for the reverb
crashbanggg
Ideal, thanks! I didn't want to piss about trying to source a bleed kit and stuff tomorrow if it there was going to be an easier solution!
forteh
I've got a bleed kit and I'm only down the road from you in Lichfield if you can't get one sorted I'm at work till 16:30 but can get it sorted out and you could pick it up from my work if need be. crashbanggg
Thankyou very much for the offer! Il call round a few bike shops in the morning and see if I can buy one locally (on the presumption I'm going to need one in the future again anyway), if that fails I'll wing you a message
N.Wood
I have a reverb that is currently off at Loco Tuning to sort this.It has already been back to Loco about 3 months ago for the same problem.Unfortunately mine needed a new internals kit as air was escaping back through the internal seal and didn't allow it to hold air. It got sorted, then did the same thing recently so Loco are sending it back to RS to check the tolerances on the internals. So yeah, worth trying a bleed as its about £90 all in for Loco to sort it but it sounds like the internals might be shot

the666ers
The big issue with these is when the post compresses at full height. This means the air cartridge is gapped from the stantion and long story short, is knackered. Every time we see this we claim under warranty and Fishers supply a brand new post. Awesome after care! monkeyseemonkeydo
But poor design? Surely there's a way of stopping it happening?
the666ers
Who knows dude I think the issue is that there must be an element of compression otherwise it will blow out, especially on hardtails!
monkeyseemonkeydo
Fair enough :). I've given up on my cheapo cable dropper and am just running a normal post again for now. Can't warrant £175+ on a 'proper' one, especially if they go wrong every few months!
