Mark W
So, first things first, nice one Jack (Screenshot swiped from OTN) The weird thing is there is now a 'Handicap' system. Apparently the Super Final thing wasn't confusing enough, so now what happens iiiiiis: The top 6 riders from the semi-final go through to the final. The riders each get a 'handicap' of a fixed number of points, depending on where they finished. They are: 1st - 0 2nd - 1 3rd - 2 4th - 2 5th - 3 6th - 3 For the final, the previous scores are all cancelled out so you just start off with whatever your handicap is. Instead of the previous way sections were run in the Super Final, what happens now is that the bottom 3 ride in a group together, starting with the last place person. Due to the way the timing works for the finals (punishing detail here) it means that there will at times be multiple riders riding simultaneously (how convenient for spectators/TV/webcasts). Then the top 3 ride as a group, starting with the 3rd place person. You get your final score, add on your handicap then you work out who finished where. I don't like to over-use the phrase "Clusterf**k", but... yeah...

Mark W
Yes, but it was more the timing in relation to the 3rd place person I was thinking of. From the sounds of things everyone still went around in a group anyway, although maybe that'll change in future.
dave33
There can only be one rider riding at a time as the following rider must Start the same section with one minute of the previous rider. (I that makes any sense)
manuel
Superfinal was good - advantage enough was given to qualifying well. This seems stupid in every way.
dave33
Superfinal was good - advantage enough was given to qualifying well. This seems stupid in every way. Yea it makes it twice as hard for the best rider. It keeps it more open which maybe is a bit more exciting for on lookers.
jeff costello
here's a shortish bit about the vöcklabruck contest from the tv: http://tvthek.orf.at/program/UCI-Rad-Trial-Weltcup-2015/10396320/Rad-Trial-Weltcup-2015/10389701 (nothing special and in german obviously. will only be available for a week) didn't know carthy was only 19! a third of it is about the women's comp, which is good. i watched 6 or 7 long videos about the contest, there wasn't one woman rider in it.
