Paperclip
I find the Cult/Vans waffle grips don't really kill your hands and last a fair while (just a option).
HarryBradbury
Endura Singletrack, awesome things, and the only gloves to have ever lasted me more than a year.
Scott Gibbs
I've got O'neill Lacondguy gloves they're mega comfortable and they've lasted about 4 years and are only just starting to get a bit tatty. As for grips I've always liked ODI long neck XLs really comfy and long wearing.

aener
Are your hands dying on rubber or foam? If it's rubber and you're not too keen on gloves, try foam. They're weird to get used used to, but great once you've adjusted, and much less harsh on the skin. If it's on foam/both then I can't help you. I'd rather just continue bleeding than ride in gloves
AWT
If you actually seen my hands you would not carry on lol And I'm using foams, not a fan of gloves but then I would rather be able to ride then not! Gone with jitsie gloves
forteh
Have you considered hand maintenance? Moisturise and cut back the thicker skin so it doesn't crack, use a pumice stone to grind the skin back until you have a callous pad left that isn't so thick it can't move so tears the skin around it. I've found that it's far better to have a thin flexible pad than thick hard skin, it takes a bit of practise to get the right thickness as too thin you can tear the callous right off. AWT
Ha ve you considered hand maintenance? forteh
Ah so it's your palms that are cracking not calluses Is it an eczema or just very dry skin? Have you tried homeopathic remedies rather than medicinal ones? Look at essential oils that can be used to moisturise the skin. I suffer from dry skin on my hands and get cracking between my fingers (nothing as bad as yours) and neutrogena norwegian formula cream is generally sufficient to recover them; however if they're bad enough to crack it normally takes 2-3 days of regular application. edit: my stepson suffers from eczema and cannot use most soaps without a massive flair up. Any regular shampoo or bubble bath will cause him agony for 3 weeks. We use soaps/shampoos from faith in nature and they're very good, no sls or parabens and don't flair up Reuben's skin Edited August 5, 2015 by forteh

forteh
What's the cream that you find effective? Is it a steroid or moisturiser? We have had very good results with calendula cream with Reubens skin, not hard to decant some into a small tube or tub. The wife also says to look into bria organics relief, repair, replenish skin cream Sounds as though you just have an eczema on the one hand. We use the faith in nature seaweed soap and Reuben doesn't react to it, the same with Dr organics lavender stuff.
p_ruskin
If its cream your after i use 'Hemp Hand Protector' from the body shop and it is ace! Use it every day you're not planning on riding as it makes your hands pretty greasy and if you try and remedy hurting hands on a ride with it not much happens, but on the days in between it makes them feel much better when you come to ride!
