tannerb
I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything when I searched. I'm building up an inspired console and I've got a 25 tooth sprocket for up front. What size sprocket should I run on the rear to make the gearing right for street trials? old boy chez
I would say about a 19 . But as far as I know most run 22/16.
tannerb
Okay, thanks. That 22/16 is what I needed to know. I think I'll go with 25/18 to match the 22/16 the closest.
Paperclip
I am riding 25/19 at the moment mainly because you can buy the Shadow sprocket guard and it is beautiful. I wanted a mid way sort of gearing good for street/speed and still able to keep trials'y style. 25/18 would fit most frames much better though as most are on 22/16 so the frames are designed around that.
Mark W
25:18 would be the closest match to the 22:16 the Console comes with/most people run
tannerb
Thanks guys. I'll start with 18 and keep the 19 in mind just in case the 18 feels way too steep.
Mark W
I'm running 22:16 at the moment on my Arcade having run 22:15 - part of me is tempted to go back to 22:15 as it feels like 22:16 is a little too spinny for my liking. Assuming you've got 175mm cranks and have been running normal gear ratios on a 24 in the past (i.e. you aren't like Luke ) you'll probably find it'll be spot on.
