Trial tech SL forks

Recommended Posts

Hey peeps, just after some new forks but I seem to remember there being a lot of problems with the SL forks breaking ? i did hear of a possibility they've been changed to make them less snap happy? Has anybody got any idea if this is true or had experience with the forks ? The maggy version not disc.

Cheers :)

The Sport Lite 26" 4-bolt forks were re-called after a couple of riders broke them suspiciously quickly (including Jack Carthy), but all the others have been spot on, and the 'new' batch of them have been working fine too. I think Ross McArthur had one of the original 4-bolt versions and didn't want to send his back and might still be using them now with no issues.

They're really good forks (the riders who were testing the prototypes/samples found they last a lot longer than any other alloy forks they'd been using), it was just some sort of manufacturing issue from what I can remember.

innnnteresting jack carthy grip tape...wonder what it feels like

No need for any special bar tape. There are so many out there for road bikes (or cyclocross where they take some abuse as well) to choose from... Some things are just not really necessary. Those forks, levers etc. on the other hand...

That sidehop to rear... wow!
