I don't think the mod is going to make much of a difference to battery life. It's more down to your batteries and coil resistance.

What batteries are you using?

Hi JT! I am currently using this

It does not disassemble, therefore no battery choice. I've got some decent batteries and a charger though from when I was using a different mod.

Looks like the battery in that is 1500 mAh. Look into a mod that takes two 18650 batteries. I use sony vtc 4's. That will give you 2100mAh per battery, so 4200mAh combined. Almost will last you 3 times longer.

I don't think it matters what regulated mod you get the battery life is going to be the same in any of them... unless of course you buy a mod that only takes one battery.

What batteries do you currently have?

heard good things about the istick 50,has 4400 mah so should last the average vaper like 2-3 dayz and the advanced 1-2

what i am using atm is the kanger KBOX,just simple and sturdy, works a treat

its using 18650s though, a freshly charged one is lasting exactly a whole day for me (veritas @0.4ohm @20-25W)

Well, that's my next purchase anyway :giggle:

I do believe mapplin do higher w/ph battery packs that'll fit an egrip.. if I've read the chatter right ;)

If you don't mind tthe size, three battery capabilities as well as a dna 200.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown on TC. Why doesn't it work with Kanthal? How does it detect temperature? What are the pros and cons of nickel, titanium and steel for TC?

I think I'd like to switch over to using TC especially on my RDA so I don't get a lungful of death when I forget to drip.

It works on resistance gain in vir. As the wire heats up so too does the resistance of the wire in a mathematically similar way. That's why only certain wire works, kanthals heat v resistance curve is too flat, given kanthal has been designed to keep the same resistance under load.

Nickel has recently gotten a bad name, because of leeching and being poisonous mostly. Ti can burst into flames if it gets too hot and if 'glown' will produce Ti02, also fairly poisonous to us humans. Not sure what steel your referring to??

Not trying to put you off, just a general heads up to tread carefully with a tc build. That lung full of death may well take a different form from a dry hit ;)

Me either with steel. I just noticed it was an upgrade on the app.

Does nickle / ti wire have the same resistance as kanthal (when they're the same gauge?)

Would you suggest I go with nickel or titanium?

I bought an Aspire Nautilus tank, because I was fed up with my Kanger Sub tank leaking.

How anyone can rate the Kanger tank so highly amazes me, the Aspire tank and coil is worlds better, and £5 cheaper. Loads more vapour, a better taste, no leaks, no burning, no spitting.

Very happy with it.

It leaks most likely because you haven't wicked it correctly. Mines never leaked, burned or spit.

Stainless upgrade. It's so the ohm meter is more stable using it ;)

No, it has way lower resistance. I'd recommend 30awg to start. 10×2.5mm wraps will come out about .05

Personally I prefer ti, though it's much harder to use

Awesome thanks, so what gauge would you suggest for a 0.15ohm dual coil build out of Ni200?

Between 30-28awg should work.

Thinner wire has less flavour, 30awg is the lowest I'll go for a single strand coil. 28awg is going to need quite a few wraps so the coil will be on the big side.

Alternatively it can be twisted with kanthal to raise the resistance. Kanthal doesn't get as hot as nickel at the same voltage.

Cheers! The Bellus system looks immense! I really like the design of how it all goes together. How long is the lead time? Never looked at a twin coil set up, I assume it will rise batteries twice as fast as they are in parallel?

Anyone tried this?

Also battery tanks. How bloody expensive are these! WTF. Not sure I can justify the cost on them. Does the battery box really matter? Or is it just the quality of the batteries?

These are the batteries I currently have Torchy 18500 so it looks like I will need another size anyway as most box mods seem to take 18650

Cheers, Ash
