The clear hose was a big surprise for me in that sense. Cap mentioned he'd found the same when he bled his own brakes up having switched to the clear hose. Water only bleed for now, silicone greased the pistons and applied a silicone spray to the bores and slave Pistons following bleeding too. Both brakes feel ridiculously smooth and quick now.
