Hey guys, I just got my new Onza Pro today, i fitted a Trialtech Race Forged 180mm on it. i'm 1.90 tall and i have never tried a trials bike before. My first reaction when i got on it was that i was too tall for it? And since i've never tried a trial bike before i almost fell on my first try since i leaned forward too much, haha. Could it be that i'm too tall for it or is it just some getting used to?

It'll take some getting used to. Trials bike geometry is a world away from any other genre of bikes, especially something like a high BB mod.

I'm 6'3" and can ride one comfortably given the right setup, it's just a case of working out what feels right for you though the stem is a step in the right direction. May be worth trying to get hold of some high rise Trialtech bars for it as well maybe.

If you could post a side on pic of you on it it'd help to give some pointers maybe??

Is there any way i can make it feel bigger? or did i buy a way too small bike? i had a chat with Tartybikes before i bought it and they said it would fit..

To be honest I'd say you look about spot on on that!

It really is just a case of getting used to the strange geometry, I know cyclists who've had a go of my 26" bike and fallen off pretty much straight after getting on because they're not used to such a high bottom bracket. Maybe roll the bars back a touch to see if that helps but otherwise you're only avenue would be higher rise bars though like I said, you look fine on it and will probably adjust once you've ridden it a few times.

It can be the same with regular riders when they switch between two different bikes, the changes in handlebar/stem setup and the varying geometry can really throw people off. I remember a few years ago going out for a ride on my 26" then taking it home and swapping for my 20", the first thing I tried was hopping up a relatively easy wall for me but because I was used to riding the bigger bike I couldn't lift the front end and just ploughed straight into the wall (right in front of a woman at the bus stop!). After about 5 mins or so I'd reaccustomed myself with it and was fine!
