HarryBradbury
Just wondering what sort of difference's the steel Inspired bikes (arcade, ideally) have compared with the aluminium ones such as the element/fourplay in terms of geometry, ride feel, etc... I've read that the arcade is more forgiving and offers a more 'yielding' ride, but how noticeable is it? Any help is appreciated! Harry. JJ Leigh
Skye's feel a lot different to four plays because of the bolt through axles, but the difference between steel and aluminium is very noticeable. personally, i just think if the geo is right you'll get suited to the bike eventually regardless of material, but that's just me however, i only mean that for inspired's... couldn't say the same for a stock bike or a mod, forks feel too flimsy for me! uk24
Doesn't the Skye have the shortest wheel base out of all the bikes they do I think its like 995mm and the arcade is a 1000mm?

Yeah it does, the arcade is 1000mm, then the fourplay's are something like 1020mm and the hex/other 26ers are even longer Skye's feel a lot different to four plays because of the bolt through axles, but the difference between steel and aluminium is very noticeable. personally, i just think if the geo is right you'll get suited to the bike eventually regardless of material, but that's just me however, i only mean that for inspired's... couldn't say the same for a stock bike or a mod, forks feel too flimsy for me! I can imagine a 15mm through axle would feel a lot stiffer, I have a through axle on my trek slash but can't really tell a difference because of the suspension... Steel sounds pretty good, I don't mind a little flex as long as it feels strong (no doubts it will be!)
