george_seamons
A while ago there was somebody on here who did CNC work, I cannot for the life of me remember who though! Basically, I need something made like the picture below (just the spacer plate, not the bung, bolts or gasket). I don't need the seal around it, literally just the big hole in the middle, and the 4 holes. Not fussed what material it is made from, although alloy would be nice. I believe the thickness is about 15-20mm. I can get the measurements, and make a drawing, although its pretty simple!
HippY
I have a friend here in Northern Ireland, he has a massive, like roomsize 20 Ton CNC and some "smaller" like 2x2M CNC machines Do you want me to get in contact with him?
Pete.M
Greg1040 was offering custom CNC parts recently in the car thread, if I'm not mistaken.

Luke Rainbird
Paul - fancy printing me a little chain guide slider if I can get it drawn up?
greg1040
I could manufacture that no problem at all. Give me some dimensions and all get back to you with a price for material. Preferably in imperial
george_seamons
Is this enough information? There is no mention of thickness, but I think 15mm would be sufficient (or whatever the next nearest size is)
Luke Rainbird
Purely as I spotted it just now whilst flicking through the 034 sale, I noticed that theirs are 25mm thick as a reference. Obviously difference TB to yours as I believe these are standard 1.8t so the product itself is no use to you though http://store.034motorsport.com/throttle-body-spacer-for-water-methanol-injection-audi-volkswagen-1-8t-wmi.html Edit: Slightly offset too. No idea why, shouldn't need to be so I'd imagine it's to do with clearance on the outside to get around other components or something. forteh
Greg, a mate of mine wants some rearsets machined for his custom 1982 long crank triumph thunderbird special; I was hoping to get the pieces pushed through at work but we're through the roof Could you pm us an email address that I could ping some drawings over to? Looking to get a mild steel sample set done first and probably in aluminium at a later date.
greg1040
Sent you a pm forteh. Yeh thats plenty information let me see what i can do and all get back to you. Straight forward thing to programme.
CurtisRider
Paul - fancy printing me a little chain guide slider if I can get it drawn up? Yup, got one of the printers at my house this week and next so send over the file and i'll get it sorted
King C
Hmm, this has got me thinking. I have some bits that I wanted machining which could have been manually machined but if people are offering service out then I may have to jump aboard. Luke Rainbird
Yup, got one of the printers at my house this week and next so send over the file and i'll get it sorted Just downloaded Google Sketchup as it was quick and easy to get hold of. Will have a play tomorrow if <whatever format it produces> is appropriate?
CurtisRider
Just save as a sketchup file and I will do the rest. Make sure you are working in MM, I can only do 130x130x130, so some pieces may have to be designed in 2 parts if they get too large! MK1 of my chain guide, can't find photos of the revised version! Luke Rainbird
This should only be around ~50x75x25 or so as a ballpark so size shouldn't be a problem. Will get it drawn up and across to you tomorrow - drop me your price and your favourite beer in return
george_seamons
Thanks Greg, very helpful! Don't worry about the tapped hole if you haven't got the bits to do it, I can always sort that at a later date if needed. Chuck me a PM once you have an idea of cost

greg1040
Job all programmed. 3d graphics of it. The 8th npt u cant see cause its on the side but will put that in also and put 45 chamfer break edges round everything.
george_seamons
Looks awesome, cheers! There is a gasket to go either side of the face, so as long as the chamfer isn't too deep, it should be ok. As long as its 15mm material thickness, its all good to hit the button
greg1040
Chamfer will just be 0.015 just something to break the sharp edges really. But yeh i will machine 2 at once out the block then split it and flash the faces to take them both to 15mm thick. Then job should be a gd un. Also in the process of machining up a drive shaft. Just got to put the splines on the end once i get a chance aswell.
