peter_t
Iv recently built a 26" bike and am unsure what stem i should use. The frame is a GU le +40bb 660mm reach. At the moment im using some 30mm rise bars and a 100mm low rise stem borrowed from my mountain bike. Im 5ft 6. What would you recommend? cheers Edited February 18, 2015 by peter_t

peter_t
Thanks isitafox, is there a general rule, higher rise for high BB? longer for taller riders?
bing
Or if you fancy it a tad higher, Trialtech 125x30 Edited February 18, 2015 by bing
peter_t
I don't really know what i fancy lol. It felt OK with the 100x5 but all i know is it feels a hell of a lot better than a very oldschool T-Pro! One thing i noticed is that i can't lift the front wheel purely by shifting my weight over the back. Is this normal for stocks?
Tonan
If you go with the 125 X 30 some of this will go away and the front of the bike will feel lighter, and take some strain off you lower back.
Pít
I don't want to open a new topic. I'm building a 26". I'm 172 cm (5"9`), the geo is 1075,375,+80. I like my bars forward (not THAT forward, just a bit more than 45 deg). The question is, 150x35 or 135x35 with more spacers? bing
150x30/35 depending on which one you buy. Try all k2 seems to be popular for compy stocks
Pít
I want something made of one piece, and without welds. Maybe a Jitsie. I stick to my front teeth
