waybe2014
Does anybody have any inside info on if these would be suitable for a street
onzatpro09
http://m.pinkbike.com/news/hope-technology-cranks-first-look-2015.html I would love a set of these, but I think the logos are a tad too in-your-face for my liking
LEON
No. But I can't see them being any weaker than the mid level Shimano stuff. Thery're actually closer to Saint weight than SLX/Deore. But would you really wanna scratch those up? At £245 I'd rather not. Agree on the logo too, all their other parts are quite subtle but that crank is really in your face. Edited January 24, 2015 by LEON
waybe2014
I don't doubt the strength I was more thinking of bb compatibility and 22 chain ring and bash bcd measurements.
LEON
Well as long you get the spider that takes a 22t ring then they'll take the same 4 bolt bash and ring as any other crank. BB30....no idea, never seen it, hollowtech's just fine for now unless BB30 does something amazing.
Aldred_85
Isnt bb30 a pressfit standard?
Ash-Kennard
Isnt bb30 a pressfit standard? I seem to remember you could buy screw in cups for the bb30 bearings in some frames. no idea what to search for for that though.
dezmtber
The hope bb30 axle will be very similar to e13 cranks look at what they currently offer hopes will be pretty much the same but they are doing spiders to fit double rings/ 22 and bash http://bythehive.com/e-thirteen/components/bsa-bbs/
monkeyseemonkeydo
http://www.pinkbike.com/news/making-hope-cranks-video-2015.html Quite a cool video showing the design, test and manufacturing processes.
TK92
Im sure the cranks would hold up fine, they are using them on DH bikes, my only concern is with the 30mm spindle the inside diameter of the bb bearings is minimized and Ive seen several issues (On race face cranks w 30mm spindles) where the bearing fails after a couple months. as long as their BB bearings hold up you should be fine.
