callum199922
At the moment I have an inspired element with the standard brakes. I want to have a better rear brake, so what is the best set up?
Scott Gibbs
whats your current set up? Pads, arms, cable? Are you running a ground rim? Edited January 7, 2015 by Scott Gibbs
callum199922
I have the inspired pro rim, avid sd7 brakes with the standard levers and cable. I have heatsink CNC blue pads which are way too hard for my rim which had a medium grind a while ago so it has smoothened out a bit now. Scott Gibbs
Try a Linear cable to eliminate a bit of flex in the pull of the brake and I'd say try some Heatsink Yellow refills as they're a bit softer.

CC12345678910
try some Heatsink Yellow refills as they're a bit softer. Sand the rim flat. If it's a halfway house between a worn out grind and smooth i've always found that the brake will be useless. Also blueberrys are not up to much, yellows are the nuts. Robin M S/c
Heatsink Blues are softer than yellows. It's all about matching the hardness of the pads to the hardness of the rim. Soft pads-soft rim, harder pads- harder rim
